The wind was blowing, the current was ripping, squalls were coming and going, but it was all worth the 2 and a half hour boat ride to pull into one of the most unique and beautiful little islands. Anegada is always a fun weekend getaway for locals and tourist alike. About a 40 mile run from St. Thomas, it is a great option to see something completely different for a day or two. The island is lined with miles of beautiful white sand beach and crystal clear, shallow, turquoise blue waters.
With term charters usually having a minimum of 5 days, and the summer time weather starting to set in (calm sees and light winds), it is always a fun option to jump on a power boat early in the morning and make the 2-3 hour run to one of nature’s little secrets. Rent a cozy little room for the night at one of the small local hotels, hop on a scooter or dirt bike (#wecameforthescooters) to zip around the magical little island, stop at a number of local beach bars along the way, sip on some sweet rum, eat fresh conch and lobster, it is an experience that you’ll want to make a monthly adventure with your friends and family.
